Joey Johnson and Shelby Tamura love making work that makes people say, ‘what the f*** I love that’.
The creative duo – affably now known as Jelby – first met in 2021 while working on the Coors Light account at DDB Chicago before joining forces with Mother LA as creative directors. They shared a similarly ‘weird and dark’ sense of humour and were into a lot of the same shows, movies, creative work, Pokémon cards, and, importantly, found themselves challenging a similar set of ideals within the industry.
